ATHENS, Ga., and TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – University of Memphis' set the school record in the men's high jump to pace the Tigers track and field's effort Saturday. Wesner's record-setting performance came at the University of Georgia's Spec Towns Invitational.
Wesner won the men's high jump with a 7-3 (2.21m) mark. His effort was two inches better than the runner-up in Saturday's event.
The Tigers sophomore surpassed the previous school record by 0.75 inches. The previous school mark (7-2.25; 2.19m) was set by Georgio Lynwood in 2012.
Wesner's previous-best jump was 7-1.5 (2.17m) at last year's NCAA East Preliminaries, where he placed second.
