MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Shoes squeaking on and balls bouncing off the court at the Larry O. Finch Center were pleasing and welcome sounds Wednesday evening when the University of Memphis volleyball squad held its first practice of the 2020 preseason.
The Tigers got together for their first team session since last fall. The squad would have had spring practices, but the pandemic occurred just prior to the start of that training season. Strength and conditioning sessions also would have taken place during summer school.
Despite all the lost instruction time the last four-plus months, UofM third-year head coach Sean Burdette was pleased with what he saw Wednesday.
