MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis freshmen and each posted three top-three performances Saturday to lead the Tigers in second-day action at the Rhodes Invitational. The meet was Memphis' outdoor season opener.
Gordon, in her first collegiate outdoor meet, was the Tigers' lone double-winner on the day, placing first in the women's long jump and also running a leg on the first-place 4x400-meter relay. Gordon also ran a leg on the 4x100-meter relay that finished second.
Southern placed second in the women's 100 meters and third in the women's 100-meter hurdles. She joined Gordon on the second-place 4x100-meter relay.
