Track And Field Posts Eight First-Place Finishes Saturday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – University of Memphis' and swept the men's and women's javelin titles, respectively, to pace the Tigers' effort in Saturday action at the 2017 Joey Haines Invitational. Southeast Missouri hosted the meet.

It is the third-straight week Memphis won both the men's and women's javelin crowns, with Criticos and Pryke winning all three. Criticos' 226-7 (69.06m) throw outdistanced the runner-up (191-4) by over 35 feet, and Pryke's 166-1 (50.63m) effort was nearly 35 feet farther than the second-place throw (131-6).

Other first place performances were: in the men's 200 meters (20.99), in the men's 400 meter hurdles (54.
