STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Memphis women's tennis team had a tough weekend in the Golden Triangle as the Tigers dropped both of their matches against No. 14 Iowa State (4-0) and No. 68 Mississippi State (4-1).
On Saturday against the Cyclones (6-1), the Tigers earned a 6-2 victory at the No. 1 doubles with Aran Teixido Garcia and Emily Myer, but that was all they could pull out as Iowa State went on to claim the doubles point and swept its first three singles matchups to take the match, 4-0.
"We played a tough opponent on Saturday, but we have to give credit to Iowa State for playing solid tennis," Memphis head coach Hayden Perez said.
