Tigers wrap up 'mock week' with nail-biter game

The kick flew through the uprights Saturday afternoon and players in blue jerseys spilled onto the field, celebrating an overtime victory at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. It was quite a thriller — except, of course, that the entire game had been scripted and none of it mattered.

In the University of Memphis football team's annual mock game, the team ran pre-determined plays in pre-determined situations with pre-determined results. It was the final part of a two-day "mock week" process designed to replicate the lead-up to an actual game.
