AUBURN, Ala. – The American Athletic Conference champion Memphis Tiger women's tennis team bowed out of the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship with a 4-1 first-round loss to No. 33 Georgia Tech Friday in Auburn, Ala.
No. 52 Memphis' season wraps up with a 20-7 record. The Tigers' 20 wins on the season are their most since winning 23 matches in 1987. Memphis was appearing in its second NCAA Tournament in program history, joining 2013.
"It was a tough loss today, but I'm very proud of this group for not only how they fought today but how they fought all year long," AAC Coach of the Year Hayden Perez said.
