MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis baseball claimed a midweek matchup against SWAC foe Mississippi Valley State by way of an 8-1 margin on Tuesday night at FedExPark.
Senior Alex Hicks pitched seven innings of virtually clean baseball, giving up only a pair of hits and an unearned one run before the Tiger bullpen closed the game with an inning of work from Grayson Kemp and Drew Hall.
Offensively, the Tigers notched their eighth win of the season behind balanced offense at the plate as well, producing 12 hits from seven batters.
