MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger women's basketball team will be back in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse this week as they play host to Jackson State in the First Round of the Women's National Invitational Tournament Thursday night.
Memphis (20-10, 11-4 AAC) picked up the American's automatic qualifier bid to the WNIT after falling in the semifinal round of the AAC Championship. The Tigers, who are back in the postseason for the first time since the 2015-16 season, made history this season as they secured the program's highest AAC seed in team history, racked up 20 wins for the first time in over a decade and saw an eight-game win streak that included a trip to the AAC Championship Semifinal, the first in program history.
