FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 2-seeded University of Memphis men's basketball team defeated No. 3 Tulane, 94-54, in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference championship on Saturday night at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
With the victory, the Tigers improved to 25-8 on the season and earned the program's second-consecutive AAC Tournament title game appearance and third overall. Memphis has won five of its last six games and 13 of its last 16 overall. Tulane fell to 20-11 on the season with the setback.
For the second-straight night, DeAndre Williams was a force, recording another double-double with a game-high 27 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block.
