Tigers Take Down Long Beach, Fall to No. 8 Arkansas

PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico. – Memphis had two big games in the second day of the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge, taking down Long Beach 4-3 and falling to No. 8 Arkansas 4-3 in eight innings.

Following today's games, Memphis moves to 2-2 overall.

GAME ONE: MEMPHIS: 4, LONG BEACH: 3
How it happened:

  • Memphis got on the board early; in the top of the first inning, an error from Long Beach allowed Taylor Smrt to score and give the Tigers the 1-0 lead.
  • Alyssa Dean would draw a bases loaded walk in the top of the 4th inning that sent Gracie Morton home and extend their lead out to 2-0.
