Tigers Split Pair of Matches in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger men's tennis team split a pair of contests as part of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Knoxville, Tenn., defeating Western Michigan Friday before losing to No. 1 Tennessee Saturday.

Against the Broncos on Friday, Memphis battled back after losing the doubles point to fall behind 1-0. No. 88 Jeremy Taylor won in the third position, and No. 112 Oscar Cutting took his first-position match to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead.

Western Michigan won the next singles point to knot the match at 2, before Pablo Alemany Malea and Pau Fanlo clinched the contest for the Tigers.
