TUCSON, Ariz. – Memphis women's tennis etched its first dual-match victory of the young season after splitting a pair of matches against Arizona and Northern Arizona Friday afternoon.
The Tigers (1-3) dropped the day's first match against the Wildcats, but picked up a 4-2 win against NAU to end the day.
Despite a strong rally in doubles play in the first match, the home team outlasted the Tigers in a pair of tiebreaks to take the opening doubles point.
In singles, Lina Hohnhold recorded a victory on court 5, but the Wildcats found three wins toward the top of the lineup to claim the match.
