Tigers Short at Mississippi State

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Memphis Tiger women's tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision at Mississippi State Saturday in Starkville, Miss.

A pair of ranked Bulldog doubles teams won their matches against the Tigers, giving Mississippi State (2-0) the doubles point. Memphis' Monique Woog narrowed the Mississippi State lead to 2-1 with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the fifth singles position, but the Bulldogs took the next two singles points to capture the match.

"I felt like we came out a little bit nervous, just not as relaxed as we had in our first few matches," head coach Hayden Perez said.
