GREENVILLE, N.C. – A season of challenges and adaptations came to a close for the Memphis Tigers Wednesday afternoon, as the squad dropped a 1-0 decision to Utah Valley in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Greenville, N.C.
The Tigers (8-4) were playing in their third-straight NCAA Tournament, fourth in the last five seasons and ninth in program history.
Utah Valley (13-4-4) is unbeaten in its last nine matches.
The Tigers came out firing Wednesday afternoon, with Lisa Pechersky taking four shots in the span of nine minutes with one clanging off the crossbar.
