MURRAY, Ky. – The tandem of senior Beth Lee and junior Amy Fister led the University of Memphis rifle team to a third-place finish at last weekend's NCAA Sectional Qualifier. Fister and Lee placed sixth and eighth, respectively, in aggregate score.
The No. 9 nationally-ranked Tigers now wait to see if they qualified for the 2016 NCAA Championships Mar. 11-12 in Akron, Ohio. The announcement of the eight-team NCAA Championships field will be later this week as Memphis heads to the 2016 Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) Championships in Oxford, Miss.
