MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – University of Memphis' posted season bests in smallbore and aggregate score, but is wasn't enough as the Tigers rifle squad fell at top-ranked West Virginia Saturday.
The Mountaineers won the match 4713-4650 over No. 14 Memphis. West Virginia won both the smallbore (2351-2310) and air rifle (2362-2340) disciplines.
Memphis now has an 11-3 record against ranked foes this season after Saturday's setback. The Tigers also dropped their first Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) match and fell to 5-1 in league action.
Clark, a freshman, led three Tigers that placed among the top-10 in aggregate score.
