MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Sophomore Haylea Broughton had her overall best performance of the season in helping lead the University of Memphis rifle squad to a 4663-4634 Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) victory over Navy Saturday. Both teams entered Saturday's match ranked No. 12 in the most-recent national poll.
The Tigers won both disciplines in securing the win. Memphis defeated the Mids in smallbore 2309-2288 and air rifle 2354-2346.
Broughton, who had a stellar freshman campaign in 2014-15, returned back to that form in Saturday's match versus Navy. The Tulsa, Okla., native posted the match's top aggregate score of 1168 and was the lone Tiger to place in the top-four in both disciplines.
