Memphis recovered from a slow start to cruise to a 107-88 win over LeMoyne-Owen College in an exhibition game Friday night at FedExForum. The new-look Tigers had five different players score in double figures.
Memphis had to overcome a blistering start by LeMoyne-Owen. The Magicians started the game by making 11 of their first 13 shots, including five three-pointers as they jumped out to a 27-18 lead in the first half. The Tigers outscored Lemoyne-Owen 19-13 over the final 10 minutes of the first half and never trailed in the second half.
Newcomer Ricky Tarrant had a nice debut in the Memphis uniform, leading the Tigers in scoring with 22 points, including four three-pointers.
