NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers walked into Memorial Gymnasium Monday night for the first time in 25 years, and after 40 minutes of battle with the Vanderbilt Commodores, they exited with a season-opening 76-67 win in tow.
Memphis (1-0) shot 50.9 percent from the floor as a team (27-53) and won the battle on the boards (35-28), while leading the game wire-to-wire.
Senior DeAndre Williams and Kendric Davis led the way with 17 and 16 points, respectively and combined for nine of the team's 14 assists.
