MOBILE, Ala. – The University of Memphis softball team concluded the Mardi Gras Classic Sunday afternoon with a 8-2 loss to Jacksonville. Memphis drops to 7-8 on the year and 2-3 in Mobile with 15 home games in-a-row coming up on the Tigers' schedule.
Memphis avoided Jacksonville runs in the bottom of the first inning with a bases loaded 1-2-3 double play. The Tigers put two base runners on in the second with a pair of drawn walks by Brady Rowland and Sara Ann Davidson, but a strikeout to end the inning slashed Memphis' chance at bringing the two runners home.
