LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The University of Memphis struggled on the final day of The Windon Memorial Golf Classic at The Knollwood Club outside Chicago and finished 10th in the 16-team field.
Marquette won the event by shooting 4-under 284 Tuesday to finish at 4-under 860, two strokes ahead of second-round leader Michigan State (862). Iowa State (868), North Illinois (870) and Michigan (871) rounded out the top five. Defending champion Northwestern, the tournament host, finished ninth at 878.
Memphis, which closed strong at its home tournament last week to finish second, was unable to reproduce the effort.
