MEMPHIS, Tenn.– The Memphis women's basketball team got out to a hot start tonight against the Bearcats of Cincinnati. While the Cincinnati offense got a spark in the second quarter, the Tigers would hold on for the 66-54 win.
Following tonight's win, Memphis moves to 13-6 overall and 4-4 in AAC play.
The Tiger offense jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead just 90 seconds into the game after back-to-back baskets from Jamirah Shutes and a lay-up from Lanetta Williams. Shutes would add in another lay-up after picking up a steal to put Memphis up 9-0 and force a Bearcat timeout.
