MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis baseball team fell to Ole Miss, 7-2, on Tuesday night at FedExPark Avron Fogelman Field. In front of a sell-out crowd of 1,383, the Tigers and Rebels played on campus in Memphis for the first time since 2008 at newly renovated FedExPark.
With the setback, Memphis moves to 16-14 (1-2) on the season. The defending national-champion Rebels improved to 17-11 on the year.
"We gave them ten free bases… eight walks, an error and a hit batter – they scored five of their seven runs with two outs," head coach Kerrick Jackson said.
