MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis fell to No. 25 UCF in its conference opener Friday night.
After falling early down in the first set, the Tigers use 5-1 to close in on the Knights 21-19 but would eventually drop the set 25-21.
The Tigers remained competitive to start the second, but UCF pulled away to a 14-9 lead and would not let Memphis get within four for the remainder of the set winning it 25-19.
Keeping the third set competitive the Tigers remained within one of the ranked Knights for most of the frame.
