WICHITA, Kan. – The University of Memphis baseball team fell to No. 25 Wichita State, 8-1, in game two of a three-game American Athletic Conference series with the Shockers on Saturday afternoon at Eck Stadium.
With the setback, Memphis drops to below .500 for the first time this season (21-22, 4-10 AAC). The Shockers improved to 26-16 (10-4) on the year with the win.
"I don't think we competed consistently across the board," head coach Kerrick Jackson said. "Fowler came out and gave us a chance, but we made too many errors and didn't have enough quality at-bats.
