MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team fell to No. 20 Mississippi State Wednesday evening by a score of 7-1 at the Tigers Softball Complex. The Tigers' nine-game winning stream came to an end as Memphis falls to 16-6 on the year.
Memphis took the first lead of the game with a solo shot to left field by Baylee Smith in the bottom of the first inning. The Bulldogs retaliated in the top of the second with two runs on a pair of hits.
The game remained close until the top of the fifth inning when a pair of Memphis errors ultimately led to five runs scored by the Bulldogs.
