MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis women's tennis suffered a 7-0 setback against SEC opponent Kentucky on Friday, Jan. 22.
Kentucky took the doubles point after claiming courts one and three. Memphis pair senior Josephine Cao and freshman Sophie Abrams started off strong, but were unable to complete their match against Kentucky's Carlota Molina and Carla Girbau.
Memphis struggled to make any headway during singles as Kentucky claimed each court.
Abrams dropped her first set against Akvile Parazinskaite but rallied back to claim the second set. The match would end with Parazinskaite holding on for a 6-4 final in the third set tiebreak.
