Tigers Fall to Hot-Shooting Pirates

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis men's basketball team erased a 14-point second-half deficit, and flirted with a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists; however, East Carolina rallied late to top the Tigers, 84-83, at FedExForum Sunday.

scored a game-high 27 points, hitting 11-of-15 shots from the field, adding five rebounds, three assists, and three blocks, while recorded his 11th career double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, and dished out a career-high six assists in the loss.

Burrell nearly became the third Tiger player in program history to record a triple-double, and the first since January of 2009 when Antonio Anderson accomplished the feat.
