STORRS, Conn. – A late offensive push fell short as Memphis fell 4-2 in the series finale at UConn on Sunday afternoon.
Sunday's game began as a pitcher's dual, as neither side generated much offense through the first five innings. After UConn plated the day's first two runs in the fifth, Memphis tied the contest in the top of the eighth inning. But the Huskies sealed their series win with two more runs in the bottom of the frame.
Freshman Hunter Goodman turned in another two-hit effort, going 2-for-4 at the plate. Seniors Colton Neel and Payton Marshall each scored runs, while junior Nick Vaage posted the team's lone RBI of the day.
