ORLANDO – The sixth-seeded Memphis women's tennis team fell 4-0 to No. 2 Central Florida Friday evening, ending its American Athletic Conference championship run.
The Tigers close the season at 10-13 overall after winning nine of their final 13 matches to wrap up the season.
UCF (11-10) quickly grabbed the first point of the match with a pair of 6-0 wins on courts one and three. Camila Soares and Monique Woog were leading their respective match 4-2 at the time the point was clinched.
The Knights carried that momentum into singles and took the first three points in straight sets to get the victory.
