RUSTON, La. – A second-half comeback fell short Wednesday evening for the University of Memphis women's basketball team as the Tigers fell to Louisiana Tech by a score of 83-74 on the road. Memphis falls to 1-2 and returns home Sunday for a 10:30 a.m. game against George Washington.
Freshman Madison Griggs put together a solid performance for Memphis, going 4-for-5 from deep and finishing with a career-high 14 points. She also led the Tigers with four steals and contributed two assists. Jamirah Shutes posted her second-straight 20-point performance with a team-high 21 points and a career-high seven assists.
