CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – After more than a two-week break, Memphis women's tennis finally returned to the court Tuesday afternoon at Austin Peay and made quick work of the Govs, 4-0.
The Tigers have now won six of their last eight matches, including three straight, to improve to 7-11 overall on the year.
For the eighth time this season, Memphis took an advantage with the doubles point. Dolavee Tumthong and Miriam Grosmann teamed up for a 6-1 rout on court three before Aran Teixido Garcia and Emily Meyer churned out a 7-5 victory on the top line to give the Tigers a 1-0 advantage heading to singles action.
