MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's tennis team received a number of academic honors, including All-Academic Team and six individual Scholar-Athlete awards, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Monday.
As a team, the Tigers were recognized as an All-Academic Team following a big year in the classroom. To be named an ITA All-Academic team, a program must have a grade point average of 3.2 or above, while all student-athletes on the roster and all varsity letter winners factor into the team cumulative GPA for the most recent academic year.
In 2023, 1,513 Division I Women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 234 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
