MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A rain-soaked afternoon ended with a Memphis baseball setback, as the Tigers dropped a 2-1 game at Middle Tennessee on Wednesday afternoon.
Scoreless in the third inning, a 55-minute rain delay spoiled a strong start from freshman . Earning his first collegiate start, the rookie threw 2.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
Following the delay, the Blue Raiders got on the board after a walk and a double. In the sixth, the home side added to its lead with a solo home run.
Memphis started a rally in the ninth inning when sent a solo homer to left field to lead off the frame.
