GREENVILLE, N.C. – scored a game-high 31 points and the University of Memphis shot 56 percent to claim a 79-69 American Athletic Conference victory over ECU at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
The Tigers (15-10, 7-5 The American) won their second straight – and their second league road game – by outlasting several determined runs in the second half by ECU, which slipped to 9-15 overall and 2-10 in league play.
Memphis made 28-of-50 shots and 17-of-25 free throws to start the two-game road trip with a win.
"First of all, it feels good to get a road win because we haven't had one since Tulane," said Tigers coach Penny Hardaway.
