MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis football team defeated Arkansas State, 44-32, in the team's home opener at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium on Saturday night in Memphis, Tenn.
The Tigers (2-1, 1-0 American Athletic Conference) piled up 547 yards of total offense to improve to 23-1 in the team's last 24 non-conference, home games. Also with the victory, Memphis took down the Red Wolves (1-2) for the fourth-straight time.
Quarterback Seth Henigan was again terrific for the Tigers, completing 19-of-28 passes for 360 yards and three touchdowns. The sophomore also ran in a score from eight yards out for his second career rushing TD.
