WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Sparked by a first-set rally, Memphis men's tennis duo of Ryan Peniston and Andrew Watson completed a comeback for a straight-set win and advanced to the semifinal round of the NCAA doubles tournament.
The No. 40 duo defeated Florida's No. 4 Johannes Ingildsen and Alfredo Perez, 7-5, 6-3. Peniston and Watson return to the court Sunday to face 29th-ranked Martin Redlicki and Evan Zhu of UCLA at 3 p.m. (CT). Redlicki and Zhu outlasted Mississippi State's No. 1 Nuno Borges and Strahinja Rakic (4-6, 6-3, 10-7) on Saturday to advance to the semifinals.
