MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis women's tennis picked up its second conference victory of the season, sweeping UConn Friday night at the Racquet Club of Memphis.
For the second consecutive match, the Tigers claimed the opening doubles point to establish an early advantage. Memphis then used six win in singles, including five straight-set wins, to seal the league victory.
"I'm proud of the girls today. We made a few lineup changes, and everyone competed hard regardless of what number they played," Head Coach Hayden Perez said. "I thought UConn was a challenge. We had some interesting sets, and our kids prevailed.
