KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Memphis men's golf team has opened play in a big way at the East Bay Deli Classic at Kiawah,hosted by Charleston Southern on the par-72, 6,911-yard Turtle Point Golf Course - Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.
As a team, the Tigers finished the round at two strokes over par for a 290, which is third in the field of 22 teams. Memphis trails just Tennessee (285) and Augusta (288), and finished ahead of Lipscomb (294), 48th ranked College of Charleston (294), Winthrop (294), Campbell (296), Loyola-Maryland (297), Gardner-Webb (298), Jacksonville State (298), Coastal Carolina (298), Troy (300), Wofford (300), Rutgers (301), Nebraska (302), Charleston Southern (302), Francis Marion (304), Presbyterian (304), Maryland (305), Abilene Christian (306), Radford (306), and USC Upstate (323).
