MEMPHIS, Tennessee – The University of Memphis men's soccer team picked up a handful of honors on the American Athletic Conference's weekly awards list, the league office announced Monday. Senior defender was named the Defensive Player of the Week, freshman was awarded Rookie of the Week, while was added to the Weekly Honor Roll.
Roberts earns his second Defensive Player of the Week after leading a Tiger defense that logged a shutout against conference opponent UConn. Memphis allowed just one shot on goal, keeping the Huskies with no real offensive opportunities in the match.
The Liverpool, England native has now seen Memphis keep clean sheets against three opponents and limit four opponents to one or fewer shots on goal.
