HARTFORD, Conn. – Led by 12-point scoring efforts from Jada Stinson and Jasmine James, the University of Memphis women's basketball team suffered a 102-45 setback to No. 3/4 UConn Wednesday evening. The Tigers fall to 10-16 on the year and 5-8 in American Athletic Conference play.
Stinson propelled the Memphis offense in the first quarter with a team-leading three made three-pointers. Stinson's third trey of the quarter cut the UConn lead down to six, 19-13, with 4:37 remaining in the quarter.
The Tigers finished with 19 first quarter points, the third-highest first quarter of the season for Memphis.
