MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Following a stellar performance against UCF last week, junior Haylee Spray has been tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Spray, a midfielder/defender from Allen, Texas, helped anchor a Memphis backline that recorded their third consecutive shutout while holding UCF to just three shots on-goal for the entire match.
This is the first Defensive Player of the Week Award for Spray this season and the third for her career.
Memphis (4-3-2, 0-0-1 AAC) will be back in action this Thursday when they travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bearcats.
