MEMPHIS – The reigning American Athletic Conference champion Memphis women's tennis team is back in Florida this week to begin its title defense at the USTA National Campus in Orlando for the 2023 AAC Championships.
The No. 6-seeded Memphis is slated to take on No. 11 Cincinnati at 8 a.m. CT Wednesday. The winner of the match will advance to face No. 3 South Florida at 11 a.m. Thursday.
The Tigers enter the championship 8-12 overall and 4-1 against AAC opponents.
After starting the season 1-9, where they faced eight teams ranked inside the top-70, Memphis got hot and closed the year 7-3 in the final month of regular season play.
