Shutes Leads Tigers in Setback to Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Memphis women's basketball team fell to Tulsa Wednesday evening by a score of 46-39 at the Donald W. Reynolds Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Golden Hurricane used a second half surge to drop the Tigers to 5-10 on the year and 0-2 in American Athletic Conference play.

Jamirah Shutes led Memphis with 13 points while Kiana Coomber pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.

Back-to-back baskets by Kiana Coomber and Jamirah Shutes opened the contest 4-0 in favor of the Tigers. The Tigers and Golden Hurricane proceeded to exchange baskets and free throws to where the game was tied with 2:18 remaining in the first.
