Memphis and Gonzaga went more than 100 minutes without a goal until junior forward Valerie Sanderson headed one into the back of the net to give the Tigers a 1-0 double overtime win in the final nonconference match of the season Saturday at Mike Rose Soccer Complex.
"Tonight was a test of our character," Memphis head coach Brooks Monaghan said. "We wanted to get something out of this to make us better. After the game settled down we did some good things and their keeper came up big to keep us off the board.
