MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Track & Field graduate student Cole Riddle was named American Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Riddle, a Surprise, Ariz., native, earned the honor after a conference-record setting performance in the pole vault at the South Alabama Jaguar Invitational. Riddle's AAC-leading mark of 5.64m (18'6") was enough to break the school record for the third-consecutive weekend. It was a lifetime personal-best clearance for Riddle (indoors and outdoors) and currently ranks No. 5 in the NCAA.
A season ago, Riddle was an AAC Champion in the vault both indoors and outdoors.
