EDMONTON, Alberta – University of Memphis rising sophomore took home the junior women's javelin crown at the 2016 Canadian Track and Field Championships this past weekend.
The Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, native threw a personal-best 165-1 (50.32m) at the championships and outdistanced the second-place finisher by over a foot (163-11; 49.96m). Pryke's throw was not only the junior women's top mark, but also would have placed fourth in the Canadian senior women's competition.
Up next for the Tigers throwing standout is the women's javelin at the 2016 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Outdoor World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, July 19-24.
