MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis pom squad finished as runners-up at the UDA national championships, Sunday in the Division IA hip hop category.
The pom squad, led by Carol Lloyd-Cross, finished less than a point behind winners UNLV. San Diego State, LSU and Cincinnati rounded out the top five finishers out of the eight-team finals.
Memphis was one of 15 teams to qualify for Sunday's final out of the Saturday semifinal round.
Fourteen-time national champs, the pom squad is part of the Memphis Spirit Squad program that also includes the national three-time co-ed cheer squad led by Tony Crump.
