MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Junior placekicker Riley Patterson was named to the Lou Groza Watch List Wednesday.
Patterson already ranks 10th in career scoring among active FBS kickers, with only one other junior in FBS topping his 217 points. Patterson heads into his senior season needing just 46 more points to move to third in school history. That would put him behind Super Bowl champs Jake Elliott and Stephen Gostkowski and just ahead of inaugural Lou Groza winner Joe Allison.
A two-time American Athletic Conference All-Academic team honoree, Patterson was 139-of-143 on PATs last year and 26-of-36 in field goals.
